Brighton has always held a special place in my heart, so when we were invited to stay at the DoubleTree Brighton Metropole, I was thrilled.

This hotel, situated right opposite the i360 and offering prime beach views, is a gem for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Brighton. Its location is ideal, with Brighton Pier just a short stroll away and the city centre within walking distance.

The DoubleTree Brighton Metropole, originally built in 1890, boasts a stunning blend of Victorian elegance and modern design. The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment, and the results are nothing short of spectacular. The interiors are spacious and beautifully appointed, with a contemporary style that still pays homage to the building's historic roots. The thoughtful design choices create a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere that makes every corner of the hotel a pleasure to explore.

We were fortunate enough to stay in a Superior King Room with a Sea View, right opposite the iconic West Pier. The room was spacious and perfect for a family, with a pull-out sofa bed that comfortably accommodated our two children. For me, staying at the DoubleTree Brighton Metropole was also a nostalgic experience. Years ago, as an area manager for Crabtree & Evelyn, I often stayed at this very hotel. It was heartwarming to see Crabtree & Evelyn products still being used throughout the hotel, adding a touch of nostalgia to our stay.

One of the highlights of our stay was the hotel's fantastic facilities. The large indoor pool, complete with toys and floats for the children, was a hit with our kids. The hot tub and saunas provided a relaxing retreat for the adults. The staff at the pool were incredibly friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing time.

Breakfast at the DoubleTree Brighton Metropole was a vegan dream come true. With a wide variety of plant-based options, including pastries, yoghurts, and even a cooked breakfast, there was something for everyone. The dining experience was made even more special by the attentive and polite restaurant staff. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant meal, and we even had the chance to chat with the chef, who was friendly and engaging. It's these personal touches that truly make a stay memorable.

A small but delightful touch was the warm DoubleTree cookies we received upon arrival. They were a delicious treat that made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the doors. While the car park is reasonably priced, I must mention that the spaces are quite tight, so larger cars might find it a bit challenging.

The DoubleTree Brighton Metropole is an excellent choice for anyone planning a staycation in the UK. Its prime location, stunningly refurbished interiors, and friendly staff make it a top-notch destination. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly hotel or a prime location stay in Brighton the DoubleTree Brighton Metropole has something to offer everyone.
