Easter Art - Printing Designs Using Recycled Toilet Rolls
Toilet roll tubes come in handy for lots of different arts and crafts. Here I show you easy Easter print designs you can do with your recycled toilet roll tube for Easter greetings cards, gift wrap, tote bags, table runners and lots more.
It's that time of year for Spring Crafts, Easter Ideas and Easter Art
and here at Mother of Grom we have no shortage of Easter Bunny Crafts, Easter Cuteness and erm well ... errrr Toilet Rolls !
In the UK (with lockdown still persisting) most families will be faced with the liklihood of celebrating Easter at home, and this recycled toilet roll printing is a fantastic craft session for kids (and big kids) as it's so easy and inexpensive to do.
I am a huge fan of trying to reuse materials we have around the house in crafts and costumes, so this Easter printing is right up my street.
Printmaking allows children to try out lots of different techniques and to see 'cause and effect' in action easier than with simply painting or drawing. They can use a variety of different paints and inks, and print with (and on) just about anything.
The great thing about printing is that depending on the paint. It can be used to add a personal touch to all occasions. You can use printing for
- Cards
- Gift wrap
- Place mats
- Table Runners
- Tote Bags
- Gift Bags
- Cushions
- Easter Cutouts
- Napkins
- Framed art gifts
- Tea Towels
- Aprons
- Gift Tags

Below are 5 Easy Easter designs to hop straight into...
The Easter Bunny
Use the one end of your roll to stamp your circles for the faces. Once you've finished your circles pinch one side of your toilet roll to make an ear shape and stamp two on top of the circles. Add in your features with your pens.
The Easter Egg
Squish your toilet roll into an egg shape and print away. Add in your patternts with paint, pens or pencils after. Even some glitter glue pens would be sweet!
The Easter Chick
Easter chick decorations! I mean - come on! How cute?!? No need to alter the shape of your toilet roll as you just need a circle. I added some feathers with strokes of paint nd used acrylic pens for the details on the face.
A Carrot for the Easter Bunny
Squidge your roll into a triangle shape for this carrot print. Add some green strokes of paint for the carrot tops and a fine liner to add the detail on the carrot.
Spring Flowers / Daffodils
Use a scissors to cut 2cm petals on one end of your roll. For the centre of the flower (or the trumpet of the daffodil) flip over your toilet roll and use the uncut end to stamp into another colour paint (I used orange for daffodils)
I hope these Easter prints are up there with the easy Easter drawings and other simple Easter crafts you may have tried in the past. As always I'd love to see your MoG crafts as they always put a huge smile on my face - Tag me on Instagram or Facebook.
Have a great Easter!
