Hotel Indigo: Your Luxury Gateway to the Heart of Shakespeare's Hometown | PR Visit & Review
Experience the pinnacle of luxury boutique accommodation as we share our enchanting stay at Hotel Indigo, one of the best hotels in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Our recent stay at Hotel Indigo in Stratford-upon-Avon was such a special experience
that perfectly combined convenience, comfort, and boutique hotel luxury. Located centrally in this historic town, Hotel Indigo is the ideal choice for Shakespeare enthusiasts looking to immerse themselves in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon's literary heritage.
The hotel's prime location enabled us to effortlessly explore the renowned Shakespearean sites, such as Shakespeare's birth place and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, all just a short stroll away. Being in such proximity to these iconic landmarks deeply enriched our stay, immersing us in the very essence of the bard's hometown.
Entering the hotel, we were immediately struck by its tasteful décor that blended modern design with a touch of classic charm. The atmosphere throughout the hotel reflected the town's historical significance while offering contemporary amenities for a comfortable stay. The balance between the past and the present was evident, creating a welcoming ambiance that resonated with a sense of sophistication.
Inside the hotel, the guest rooms were a testament to the town's rich history, offering three distinct yet equally captivating designs inspired by Shakespeare himself. The Tudor Rooms, steeped in 16th-century tradition, provided a glimpse into the past with scenic views of Shakespeare’s New Place, his residence in later years. The Georgian Townhouse rooms, drawing inspiration from Shakespeare’s Theatre, blended luxury with a cosy, homely charm. Meanwhile, the Contemporary Rooms in the new wing showcased a sophisticated and elegant design inspired by the 20th century, adding a touch of modernity to our experience. Each room design echoes the historical significance of Stratford.
The hotel is a great choice if you're visiting with children, and the room we stayed in proved to be a perfect choice for our family. One of the highlights of the room was a cleverly integrated sofa bed, a versatile feature that provided a living space during the day and effortlessly transformed into an extra double bed at night. This considerate design not only ensured a restful night's sleep but also added a layer of convenience to our stay with the boys.
All guest rooms are fitted with Nespresso coffee machines, a 40-inch flat screen TV and IHG Connect, IHG’s seamless internet experience for guests. The room had a spacious shower room, and for those seeking a touch of relaxation, our stay also featured a free-standing bathtub right in the bedroom. This unique addition oozed an air of luxury and intimacy, creating the perfect setting for unwinding and rejuvenation... perhaps best enjoyed when visiting without the kids!
In the morning, our breakfast experience at the hotel was not just satisfying but also accommodating to different tastes, especially for vegans. The spread offered a variety of options, including fresh fruits and invigorating healthy smoothies as part of the continental selection. For those preferring a heartier start to the day, there was a diverse menu featuring cooked breakfast options, catering to a range of preferences. What made our dining moments truly special was the warm hospitality of Maya and Robin, who ensured our service was personalised and enjoyable. Their friendly service created a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing our overall stay. The hotel's dedication to providing vegan choices in both the continental and cooked breakfast options demonstrated their commitment to accommodating various dietary needs, making our mornings hassle-free and very enjoyable.
Our culinary experience at The Woodsman, the hotel's restaurant and bar, was truly remarkable. Under the expertise of renowned restaurateur Mike Robinson, co-owner of the prestigious Michelin-starred Harwood Arms in Fulham, The Woodsman delivered a dining experience that exceeded all expectations. Mike Robinson's passion for British produce and sustainable wild food was evident in every dish. The restaurant's commitment to the 'field to fork' philosophy resonated well with me, emphasising sustainability, seasonality, and locally sourced ingredients. The innovative concept of the Feasting Room, which served as a cosy breakfast spot during the day and transformed into an intimate private dining room at night, added a touch of exclusivity to our overall dining experience, making it truly unforgettable.
Hotel Indigo's enchanting gardens, meticulously maintained, not only enhanced the visual appeal of the property but also played a vital role in the culinary creations. Freshly harvested herbs were skilfully incorporated into the dishes at the hotel's restaurant, enriching the flavours and offering a unique farm-to-table dining experience.
Our stay at Hotel Indigo in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon epitomised the diverse and inviting hospitality scene this charming town has to offer. With a myriad of options ranging from luxurious hotels to cosy guesthouses and boutique accommodations, Stratford-upon-Avon truly caters to every traveller's taste and budget. Hotel Indigo, nestled amidst this tapestry of choices, stood out not just for its elegant ambiance, but also for the warm hospitality and thoughtful design, providing us with a memorable and comfortable experience. We will definitely visit again in the future.
